Koblenz. A German-French artist group, “Ephemera Art,” presented a special performance in Koblenz on the theme: “Immersive Art.” This is a new art form that has developed significantly in recent years and is only implemented by a few artists and groups. The audience stands in the midst of the artwork, which is projected onto the walls, including the ceiling, using multiple projectors in 360 degrees. The work revolves around the astonished visitor. The videos also run over the paintings of the Parisian artist Arnaud Quercy, who has composed them to incorporate elements from his pictures.
The paintings come to life, so to speak. The musician and composer Frank von Häfen from Remagen complements the media performance with special musical pieces that process the themes. Throughout the exhibition, video installations and musical pieces that were performed live by the two artists at the vernissage will be heard. Arnaud Quercy played the piano for this, and Frank von Häfen recorded the music in the Remagen studio using flute and electronic wind instruments. A work of art for all the senses, titled “Transcendence,” addresses the deeply human longings of “faith, love, hope.” The viewer/listener is drawn into the artwork.
Angelika Kallenbach, the chairwoman of the Koblenz association, invited the artists and their work to the association’s own gallery. She also succeeded in securing Petra Spielmann from the Arp Museum Rolandseck as an art historian and Koblenz’s cultural commissioner, P.D. Margit Theis-Scholz, as a speaker for the project. The ongoing exhibition at Altenhof 13 is open from Wednesday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM (and by appointment).
